# Access & Onboarding - Getting an API key

**Symptoms**

* An integration or the REST/broker APIs require an `api-key` / access token you don't have.

**Likely cause**

API access uses a Mobb access token generated from user settings by a user with the appropriate permissions.

**Resolution**

1. Go to **Settings → Access Tokens** and click **Add API Key**.
2. Copy the key value immediately and store it securely — it is shown only once.
